Supporting UCSD's EPSE & LAMP Programs

On Sunday, January 29, a group of alumni and instructors from EPSE and LAMP met for dinner at Firefly Grill & Wine Bar, in Encinitas. It provided a great social setting for the group to meet, network, and discuss a wide range of interesting topics.

“Exploring Contemporary Management Challenges” addressed the subject of retaining and engaging key talent. The assignment was to gather information from interviews, surveys and literature and to look for common themes in the collected data. The 29 researchers conducted 54 interviews from 13 science and technology companies, collected surveys from 477 respondents, and included 107 citations in their reports.

On March 17, Ron Ploof (author and blogger) spoke to the audience about how social media is changing the marketing dynamic in interesting ways and how organizations can leverage such things as RSS (I had to look it up!) to reach a better targeted audience for much less cost. As I take over the lead this year I'd like to thank Blake for all of his time and energy over the past two years. As we've all learned in EPSE and LAMP, fitness, exercise and nutrition are a large part of living a healthier and more productive lifestyle - both personally and professionally. Many of your EPSE and LAMP alum are active fitness buffs, including some runners amongst us.
