On March 1, a group of EPSE/LAMP descended upon North Park to tour the soon-to-be-completed site for Mike Hess Brewing’s new operations. Mike was there to provide the tour. On November 12, the EPSE Class of 2013 gathered once again at the Rosa Sattoria Ranch. For the beginning of module two, new teams were formed and went after four important training objects: a sense of group identity, a sense of group efficacy, a high level of communication and trust under pressure, and the ability to organize quickly and make rapid and effective decisions.

On November 10 approximately 25 EPSE/LAMP Alumni, plus family and friends, and one instructor, visited the Air and Space Museum in Balboa Park, with nine of us meeting before hand for lunch at the Prado restaurant. The 28th year of EPSE and 27th year of LAMP came to an exciting end on the evening of Wednesday, May 23, 2012. On April 17th, General Dynamics NASSCO provided a private tour for the LAMP and EPSE students. The first hour was spent in a classroom-like setting among NASSCO managers and executives who explained with pride what they do and how they do which opened our eyes about the ship building process. The Leadership and Management Program (LAMP) conducted its second session in the field on March 13th. There were four leadership learning objectives: a sense of group identity for the newly formed teams, the importance of trust and communication, the need for rapid and effective decision-making, and the control of emotions under pressure.

On March 5, 2012, the Executive Perspective for Scientists and Engineers (EPSE) class was in the field again. This time they were going after the high ropes course at Camp Stevens in Julian.
